All in the Family

This was about a year ago – my boys helping me take delivery of “There’s An Alligator in Audubon Park!”

Community Book Center – we had a great time!

The book release party for “There’s An Alligator in Audubon Park!” at Community Book Center on December 10, 2016 was a great time. Always a wonderful atmosphere there, and Vera and Mama Jennifer make you feel like you’ve come home.

We also did a bookmark craft with the kids, and it was loads of fun! And I think they even enjoyed hearing the story.

And there was cake! Many thanks to Jerald White of the Blended Books Club, Brassybrown.com and Community Book Center for sponsoring this event and the Cupcake Fairies for such a delicious confection!

First Book Review for “There’s An Alligator in Audubon Park!”

Hey! I got my first book review for “There’s An Alligator in Audubon Park!” Very short but here it is:

(You have to scroll down)

Midwest Book Review says:

“What would you do if you saw an alligator on your afternoon stroll? Would you run? Would you warn everyone? Or would you fire up the gumbo pot! That’s what we’ll find out in the children’s picture book “There’s An Alligator in Audubon Park!” Author Gina Minor Allen has a genuine flair for creating an original and thoroughly ‘kid friendly’ entertainment for young children ages 3 to 8 and would prove to be an enduringly popular and unique addition to family, preschool, elementary school, and community library children’s picture book collections.”

Forest Sales will distribute “There’s An Alligator in Audubon Park!”

So what have I been doing? Lots of things focused on selling “There’s An Alligator in Audubon Park!”

  • I set up an e-commerce link on this website
  • I set up a link so that folks can buy on Amazon
  • I’ve been building out my bookstore mailing list and
  • I set up a link so that folks can join my mailing list.
  • Most importantly, Forest Sales (forestsales@juno.com and www.bookmarketingplus.com) has agreed to distribute “There’s An Alligator in Audubon Park!” That’s significant because they sell to all sorts of gift shops in the French Quarter and other places in Louisiana that I might not be able to sell to.

Sooo…basically moving right along. Now I need to start setting up some book signings…
